Getting to Colombiers

              By Road and Rail

Directions to No 15, Grand Rue

Colombiers is about 6 kilometres from Beziers and is pretty much midway between Monpellier and Perpignan on the curve of the Mediterranean that leads down to the Spanish Border (the 'Gulfe du Lion').

Colombiers is easy to get to by road, rail or Air.

Driving:

You can cross the Channel via the Ferry Services (both normal ferries and high speed catamarans) or via Eurotunnel from Ashford to Calais.  You will need to choose the route that is easiest for yourself.

France has a large complex of Motorways, many sections of which are toll (Peage) roads.  With the new Millau Bridge between Clermont Ferrand and Beziers you should expect to have between 10 & 12 hours of driving to get from Calais to Colombiers.  Consider how many stops you might wish to take and whether you wish to take your time and enjoy the trip or to try and drive to the South in as short as time as possible!.

Train:

There are regular connections to French Rail (SNCF) from Waterloo (Eurostar) to Lille or Paris, continuing by TGV to the South of France.

You can also take your car on Motorail with a through ticket from Dover via Calais to Narbonne overnight - an urbane but expensive way to get your car to the South of France!  If you look hard you might be able to get your car on a train from Paris overnight while you go by a daytime train at a more reasonable cost.  You will need to do some research if this is what you wish to do!

Colombiers is easily reached by Train then Taxi or Hire Car from any of the from main towns/cities in the area - Monpellier, Beziers, Narbonne (Motorail) or Perpignan.
